DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES

Job Summary


Working as a Director of Dining Services, you will oversee all aspects of the school nutrition program, including client relations, management of the day- to day operations, leading a team along with ensuring that the food offered to the customers is of superior quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:


Key Responsibilities:



  • Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the school administration, staff, students and the community

  • Comply with nutrition objectives and support operational goals of the school nutrition program

  • Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account

  • Establishes cost control goals to effectively manage the school nutrition program

  • Manages purchasing and inventory controls

  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client

  • Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food for the students

  • Establishes policies and procedures to ensure food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment.

  • Provides leadership in creating a safe work environment for school nutrition operations

  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the Chartwells marketing and culinary team

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

  • Interviews, hires, trains and coaches employees and managers

  • Maintains food cost while ensuring safety & quality standards


Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree¬ required

  • Three to five years of foodservice management experience required

  • School dining experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of the national school lunch program desired

  • Exceptional business etiquette and client relations

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Financial and business acumen

  • Excellent communication skills

  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
